Barry Waldrep

Barry

Banjo, guitar, mandolin, vocals

Barry started playing bluegrass music at age 6 with his father’s band playing the festival circuit across the south. At age 14, he had the chance to perform on stage with the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe. Since then he has spent alot of time paying his dues in several road bands doing other styles of music. In 1986 he met Rick Carter, founding member and leader of the Birmingham based Telluride. A few years later Barry was asked to join the band.
Now Barry is back playing the music he loves and knows best. Bluegrass along with influences from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Charlie Daniels.
In October 1997 Barry released his first solo CD (Steel Rails), a combination of original and traditional bluegrass.  With all of his years of experience and his intense style of playing, Barry puts the Badass in our Bluegrass.
